The Love of Kids Foundation were the recipients of a recent donation from Sol Antilles NV.

Sol Antilles Country Manager, David Antrobus says the donation, which coincides with the company's celebration of its 7th anniversary, is part of the company's commitment to forming strong social partnerships and linkages with the communities where they do business. The goal in this anniversary year is to "touch lives in the very communities that have contributed to Sol's successes."

Sales and Marketing Manager Patrice Paines presented the $1,000 donation that was accepted by founding members of Love of Kids, Shelly Jack and Dorothea Aenlee Flankenberg.

The Foundation assists parents, teachers and others, to better understand and adapt their teaching styles to the children’s specific learning needs. Their belief is that all children have the possibility to reach their full potential.

A symposium held by The Love of Kids Foundation in February, at the Bel Air Community Centre focused on discussions concerning various community issues and workshop sessions with local students.

"Sol remains committed to affecting positive change in the communities all across St. Maarten. We acknowledge the importance of education in any country's development and are keen to support this forum which will directly assist children and their parents who stand to benefit from the work of this foundation." Antrobus said.

Founding member Shelly Jack remarked "The businesses on St. Maarten, which includes Sol Antilles, have been very helpful."
