SOL REWARDS REGATTA SUPPORTERS

During the annual event, which was held over the Easter weekend at the Nanny Cay Resort and Marina, Sol held a free raffle, open to all visitors to the Sol tent at the Regatta Village.

Two winners were drawn each evening at 7.30pm, and the winners were announced at the awards ceremony held on Sunday, April 4th, by Deborah Benjamin, Country Manager, Sol St. Lucia Ltd (BVI Office). Ms. Benjamin explained that this was the second year that Sol ran the raffle at the annual Regatta, and this year it was decided that the prizes would reflects the company’s involvement in the provision of aviation products.

“We decided to offer the free flights as a tie-in with Sol’s role as supplier of Aviation Gasoline (AvGas) and Jet A-1 fuel to the commercial carriers and numerous private jets that land in the BVI. Our goal is to raise awareness of Sol’s complete line of elite products, in an effort to keep Sol top of mind in our markets across the markets in which we operate.”

Ms. Benjamin indicated that the raffle was open to anyone over the age of 18, including international visitors, and stated that it is hoped that this it will be an incentive for these visitors to come back to the BVI’s shores before the year’s end.

Sol also sought to play its part in minimising the pollution of marine waters, as well as promoting the preservation of marine life by providing participating skippers with a roll of marine absorbent pads to soak up oil-based liquids such as fuel while repelling water, a product that is used by Sol in oil spill management exercises.
