SOL BELIZE OPENS TWO NEW SOL SHOPSJuly 16, 2010
Belize City, 26th June 2010: SOL Belize Limited officially opened two state- of- the-art convenience shops today at One-Stop Service Station and at Buca in Belize City. The two shops were opened with fanfare and in style and the official ribbon cutting was done by Mayor Zenaida Moya Flowers of Belize City.
At the official opening Joe Habet, General Manager for SOL Belize, stated that, “The Sol Shop in Belize City is an enhanced version of the first Sol Shop which was built in San Ignacio”. He remarked, “Sol is extremely pleased to celebrate this moment with the people of Belize and will continue to throw its fullest support behind projects which contribute towards development of the country…The Sol Shop product is quite a significant investment and it will contribute positively to the country’s economy. Sol will continue to be the leaders in the petroleum industry and will continue to play an active role within the communities where it conducts its business”.
Joining Mr. Habet in opening the new Sol Shops, was Philip Payne, Group Retail Marketing Manager for the Sol Group, who came in from Barbados. He said that the Sol Shop represented an innovative approach to the Convenience Retail business. “Our offer is one that is ‘Fresh and Fast’… The design offers a sleek ultra- modern feel and has been touted by our engineers as an elegant engineering solution, which, when combined with the inviting color palette and efficient operating standards, offers our customers a warm and welcoming retail experience”.
Following the opening ceremony there was a raffle every half hour at both Sol Shops, with a grand prize draw at 4:00 pm for BZ$1,000.00 worth of fuel at both service stations. All customers who purchased items from the Sol Shops during the day received a ticket to enter the raffle. Several partners such as: Santiago Castillo, Zeta Water, Ryo, Karl H Menzies, Brodies, and Travellers amongst others supported the raffle by donating prizes for the draws. Winners were announced on LoveFM Radio Station at intervals during the day.
