SOLGAS Summer Program a Resounding Success in Dominica

This initiative was organized to give something back to residents within the immediate SOLGAS bulk depot trading area.  SOL EC LTD, through its local SOLGAS Agent, worked with the Goodwill Primary School and its Principal Miriam Lewis, to coordinate an eight day program, running from July 7th – 16th, 2010.

Held at the Goodwill Primary School, the closest venue to the SOLGAS Bulk Depot in Fond Cole, the Program was packed with eight days of fun-filled and developmental activities including a field trip to the SOLGAS Bulk Depot where kids learnt about the safe handling and storage of cooking gas at home.  A total of twelve persons served as resource persons to the students.

Many parents and well wishers turned out in their numbers to witness the closing ceremony of the summer program which was held on Friday 16th July.  The featured speaker was former Minister of Education Mr. Herbert Sabroache who during his presentation reminded the students that success in any activity would come only through hard work and determination.

Speaking on behalf of SOL EC LTD Mrs. Eugenie Dalson gave a motivational talk to the students and urged them to hold on to the ideals espoused in the school’s vision statement.

At the closing ceremony students received certificates of participation sponsored by SOL EC LTD.  The certificates were presented to the students by the Parliamentary representative in the area Honorable Julius Timothy.
