Sol Providing Transportation Assistance for Challenor School Children

Several children of the Challenor School have overcome their transportation difficulties and are now living life to the fullest with support from Sol.

A significant contribution from SOL (BARBADOS) LTD towards defraying the cost of specialised vehicles now means that the children will no longer have to stay at home sometimes missing school, medical appointments, or social activities.

Sales and Marketing Manager of SOL (BARBADOS) LTD, Kirk King, said the assistance was consistent with Sol’s commitment to providing educational development opportunities for the young people at all levelsof society.

“Despite their challenges, these special children are full of energy and brimming with potential, and Sol is really pleased to be able offer this support in providing the transportation that they need to help them to aim high and reach for the stars.”

Kristina Allman, a founding member of the recently formed parent support group behind the initiative, expressed her gratitude to Sol on behalf of parents and children who will now be accommodated by transportation provided by private firm, Blessed Rentals:

“Sol’s response was wonderful, it was prompt and they seemed keen, and I am just very happy with what we got from Sol. I visited their website and I saw the work that they were doing, and they looked like a receptive company and I said I would approach them; and I am very happy.”

The concerned parent said transportation was previously a major problem:

“Right now we have nine children in dire need of this assistance, and there are more children at the School and other places who need services; not limited to getting to school, but getting to hospital for appointments, doctor visits and physiotherapy.”

It was wrong, Allman added, for people to assume that the children could miss out on life because of their various challenges.

“Some people assume that they don’t need the stimulation, and that it doesn’t matter, but that’s not true; all children benefit from activities and you can’t just have them at home, they have a life too and want to enjoy themselves. Even for social and recreational reasons we want to be able to reach out to parents to plan social events and support group activities.”
