Sol Rewards Top Students

in

Three well accomplished students will start their secondary school lives this month well equipped with the latest in computing technology thanks to Sol (Barbados) Limited.

Danielle Blackman-Samuel of St. Mary’s Primary, Jarad Hoyte of Wesley Hall Junior School, and Muhammad Nana of Westbury Primary were each recently presented with Dell Latitude notebooks as a reward for achieving the highest individual scores in their schools in this year’s National Common Entrance Examination.

This follows donations earlier this year of 250 Sol branded stationery packs to each of the primary schools mentioned above as part of Sol (Barbados) Limited’s efforts to play a greater role in its surrounding environs, particularly at the level of the youth. Dulene Bradshaw, Commercial Sales Executive at Sol (Barbados) Limited, said the company took the decision to “adopt” the three schools, with a view to providing assistance wherever possible and positively impact the development of the students.

“We at Sol recognize there is a role for us to play in the community, especially in the area of education. Our emphasis continues to be one which focuses on enhancing the academic experience of students while in school and my wish is for them to stay focused and keep working hard so they can achieve more success in the future. We look forward to the development of a long-term relationship with these schools.”

Jarad, who will be attending the Queen’s College Secondary School, said he was pleasantly surprised to hear about the reward, and is happy to know he no longer needs to go to the library to use a computer.

Danielle, who will be going on to The Alexandra School said she is very happy she would not have borrow her sister’s laptop anymore to conduct her research, and expressed her eagerness to begin a new chapter in life with the help of Sol.

Finally, Muhammad also said he was quite surprised upon finding out he would be receiving a new laptop from Sol, stating this would be an important tool for him when he begins his life at Harrison College this September.
