Employees of Sol Caribbean Ltd. have embraced the company’s spirit of community involvement by leading their own support efforts in various areas of interest.

Recently, Jason King, Group Tax Manager with Sol took part in the annual graduation ceremony of his Primary School Alma Mater, St. Paul’s Primary School, by presenting Sol branded plaques to each of the 81 students who took this year’s Common Entrance Examination.

Mr. King, who credited much of his development to the years spent at the Brittons Cross Road institution, said being recognised for the effort he put in while at the school was one of the proudest moments in his life, a feeling he wanted each student to experience:

“St. Paul’s Primary has always been dear to my heart as some of my happiest childhood memories originated there. One such memory is that of graduation and being honoured for the hard work I had put in up until that point.  Therefore, when I decided to make a contribution I could not think of a better way to do so than by individually recognising each student during his/her proudest moment. This was made possible with the support of my employer, Sol, which has cultivated a high level of community involvement among its staff. I look forward to furthering my relationship with the school where I will be encouraging the students to dare to dream and continue to strive for excellence.”

Over the last few years Sol has been making a concerted effort to play an active role in the development of youth in the territories within which it operates. The company has become heavily involved with the Barbadian community, particularly at the junior school level as evidenced by the partnerships it has forged with institutions such as the St. Mary’s Primary, Westbury Primary and the Wesley Hall Junior School.

Sol believes that part of furthering the youth’s development includes facilitating their exposure to the highest standards, whether it be in sports, environment or education and in light of this will continue its work to assist with ensuring such opportunities are realised.
