Sunday May 6th 2012, saw Roger Skeete and Louis Venezia drive to victory at the Barbados Rally Club’s Shakedown Stages.
The team’s Subaru Impreza WRC S12 revealed a new look confirming Sol as the new sponsor for the vehicle, which placed 1st , with a time of 19m 49.27s, winning four out of the ten stages.

Sean Gill and Michael Cummins, drivers of the other Sol sponsored vehicle placed 3rd on the day in their Simpson Motors/Automotive Art/Monster Energy/Shell V-Power Suzuki SX4 WRC, with a time of 20m 05.84s.

Country Manager at Sol Barbados, Ezra Prescod who was very pleased, but admittedly not surprised at the performance of both cars remarked, “The combination of Roger Skeete’s historic winnings and the diligent performance of our much celebrated Sean Gill has added a nice dynamic to Sol Rally Barbados. We are proud to have these two motor sport stalwarts represent our Sol and Shell V-Power brands and are pleased to be able to contribute further to the development of motorsport in Barbados."

As the excitement continues to build towards that anticipated weekend in June, if last weekend was evidence of what is ahead, Sol Rally Barbados 2012 will be a demonstration of very serious competition.

When asked about his results, Roger Skeete responded “We are not taking this win for granted but will make sure we do everything we need to do to repeat this at Sol Rally Barbados”.

As a strong contender for the Sol Rally Barbados on the 9th and 10th June, 2012, the Sol Subaru Impreza WRC S12 made an impressive mark in both the looks and results category.

For over 33 years Roger has always been a diligent competitor and last weekend’s win was further confirmation that he was still very much in the game. “The Sheriff” Skeete had a focused approach to his outcome at the Shakedown event and admitted, “We did not go there with any other thought in mind than to win. Coming second was not an option.”
