The 2013 graduating class of St. Paul’s Primary School has been encouraged to continue the school’s tradition of excellence by “beginning with the end in mind”.

This was the theme adopted for the school’s recently held Annual Graduation Ceremony, as parents, teachers and special guests gathered at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Conference Centre to honor and inspire the graduating class.

Among special guests helping to commemorate the end of one journey and mark the beginning of another was Sales & Marketing Manager of SOL (BARBADOS) LTD, Kirk King, who presented the eighty graduands with “Class of 2013” Graduating Plaques.

Congratulating the students on their success, King said Sol’s support for St. Paul’s Primary was in harmony with the company’s commitment to youth and education in general:

“Sol is consistent in contributing to educational development opportunities for the region’s young people at all levels, supporting programmes in primary and secondary schools, and providing scholarships at tertiary level. I know St. Paul’s has also made a contribution to our company as several co-workers of whom I am aware are alumni of this school.”

Earlier, the tone for an inspirational evening, was set by guest speaker and veteran broadcaster, Carol Roberts, who reminded the graduands that they were carrying on a tradition of excellence for St. Paul’s Primary.

Expanding on the graduation theme, Roberts gave several examples of Barbadians who had triumphed over adversity to become successful. She told the students that to make it to the successful ends they envisioned, it would be imperative for each of them to have a plan for their lives, and to execute those plans.

“Know yourself and you can succeed; also seek knowledge for yourself, and dream big, realistically but big,” Roberts stated.

Capping off the ceremony, Principal Sandra Small-Thompson said through hard work and perseverance, the school had achieved another successful year, securing many successes in spite of having faced numerous challenges.
