Are you Ready for Rally?

That’s the question Sol is asking rally fans at their favourite time of the year, as the leading petroleum company again partners with the Barbados Rally Club in presenting Sol Rally Barbados 2014 (Sol RB14) to motorsport enthusiasts in Barbados and across the world.

Sol RB14 is the 25th running of the Rally Club’s annual International All-Stage Rally and marks the seventh year of title sponsorship by SOL (BARBADOS) LTD since 2008, when Sol signed the first of two consecutive sponsorship deals with the Barbados Rally Club.

The Caribbean’s biggest annual motor sport international, will once again welcome a line-up of drivers and navigators from 15 countries for a weekend of thrilling action from May 30th to June 1st, preceded the previous weekend May 24th and 25th with the Scotiabank King of the Hill and Simpson Motors Scrutineering.

Ezra Prescod, Country Manager of SOL (BARBADOS) LTD said Sol was indeed proud to be the Title Sponsor of Sol Rally Barbados for the seventh year in a row. He said Sol was pleased to continue its partnership with the Barbados Rally Club and extremely satisfied with the growth of the event and its positive impact through the years.

“Sol Rally Barbados has consistently brought together the finest international, regional and local drivers on 166 square miles of land, entertaining motorsport fans too numerous to count, and providing an experience to rival any in the world. We have witnessed continuous growth each year as the event has evolved, and we must highlight the important contribution it makes to the economy of Barbados. Sol Rally Barbados is a major generator of direct foreign exchange income from sports tourism, and also gains valuable international exposure for the island.”

Prescod added that as one of the leading petroleum suppliers in the Caribbean Basin the connection between motorsport and Sol’s core business was self-evident.

“At Sol we are as passionate about producing high performance premium fuels, as we are about motorsport; we are also just as passionate about supporting communities, and Sol Rally Barbados continues to be an excellent fit in all these aspects.”

This year as usual fans can meet and greet their favourite drivers at several exciting events building up to the main competition weekend, beginning with the Sol/Chefette Shakedown Lime which comes to the car park at Chefette Warrens tomorrow, Friday May 9th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

This will be the first of three such events, the other two taking place on Friday May 16th at Sol Warrens Service Station, and on Friday May 23rd, at Sol Speightstown Service Station, both running from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Fans will also not want to miss the eagerly anticipated Scrutineering event taking place at Simpson Motors on Saturday May 24th from 2 to 6 p.m. where the whole family can enjoy a day of fun featuring exposed engines, finely turned out cars, autographed items from the drivers, and plenty of attractive promotional items from Sol.
