The agency sources and provides nearly 100 percent of the consumable items America’s military forces need to operate, from food, fuel and energy, to uniforms, medical supplies, and construction and barrier equipment.
According to communication originating from the DLA’s office, “Sol’s response to the devastation caused by the 7.0 magnitude earthquake…exemplifies outstanding readiness support. Sol’s performance was impeccable, their product was 100% on specification and their deliveries were 100% on time. They demonstrated exceptional reliability and dependability, and maintained consistent communication to report accurate and timely status of operations”.
During its Business Alliance Award Ceremony held in Columbus, Ohio, June 28th, Mr. Eustache Saint-Lot, General Manager of SOL in Haiti, accepted the DLA Business Alliance Award from DLA Director Navy Vice Adm. Alan S. Thompson for outstanding readiness support following the aftermath in Haiti.
Overall, 24 industry partners, customers and individuals were recognized during the ceremony. On accepting the award, Mr. Saint-Lot remarked, “this recognition means that Sol has been seen as an energy supplier that governments can be confident in using. After the earthquake, Sol was the first company back in operation on the field and our first shipment of diesel went to the DLA. In my mind I did not see it as a sales opportunity but a contribution to the relief team working in the Country. At Sol, we will continue to serve the needs of our valued customers and look forward to serving you responsibly and competently in the future”.
